Requirements

Application

Apply for an individual license through the Office of Professional Regulation. Upload a signed and notarized Oath of Office. Fee $30.00 as posted (debit, credit, or ACH).

Stamp

A stamp is not required. If you use one, it must meet the FAQ rules and must not include the Vermont State Seal. Stamps with an expiration date must be replaced every two years.

How to get started

   Apply online at OPR

   Log in, choose Apply for Individual License, upload the oath, and pay. OPR emails if more is needed.

2. 02

   Register on StampSide

   After you use the Vermont Secretary of State site, create a public page: photo, where you work, and how clients reach you. You can appear in the Vermont directory. The page stays unpublished until a commission is on file.

Remote / electronic notarization

Remote notarization is allowed under emergency rules the FAQ cites. Electronic notarization needs a special endorsement. They were in permanent-rulemaking when we read the page.
